Our Youth Our Future

Like seeds sown in soil,
Children are born into this world.
These children are born with a purpose.
They are born with plain canvases,
Waiting on the artist to make his first brush stroke.
This first stroke is the key to their future.

Like building blocks at playtime,
Each child is a block to the future.
They are what we look forward to
Our future doctors, lawyers, and business executives
And they set the basis of tomorrow, today.

At the toddler stage it doesn’t seem
As though that tot’s future is bright.
But when adolescence hits,
That same tot know who they are,
And where they want to be.
Though right now that child may have a frown,
Each of us are destined to be somebody, someday.

I love writing and believe that it's therapeutic to me particularly poetry because I can really play with different techniques. I also love to share inspirational writings including food for thought and just odd ideas in my head but mainly poetry.
