Do you attend church?

I know it may be a crazy question to propose during this time but most don’t even think of the significance of being connected to church until crisis hits. So I couldn’t think of a more opportune time the bring it up. Seeing as though we are smack dab in the middle of a crisis. Do you attend church?

Old Danish Church in Sheffield

Why church? Because it’s the one place where we can receive enlightenment and hope for the situations that we face. The promises that God makes to His children are the very hinges on which we hold to during times of uncertainty. These aren’t vain promises made to give us a false sense of hope but true promises that help us to know that we are not alone and that someone understands.

I can hear the argument, now but I can’t see God, so how can I be sure that He is real? Or, I don’t get it, how is a promise something to hold on to, we need actions and plans, not promises. God’s promises are bits and pieces of His wisdom discovered by others who have endured crises and trusted in Him. His promises give us an inner peace on which we can’t truly explain to others but we tell them in hopes that they will want to experience it as well.

Coming into the peace of God stems from one thing and one thing only. It is belief. When one is in a state of belief it causes them to come to a place of rest within themselves. Taking the worries and the frustrations of life off of their shoulders and putting them into the hands of God allowing Him to show them His sovereignty.

Phillipians 4:6-7 says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Word Peace written in the sand

This is one of my favorite “go to” scriptures when I am worried about things I can do nothing about or just frustrated with the way things may be going in my life. These words are a promise, that if I take off or exchange what I’m worried about I can receive the gift of the peace of God which surpasses human understanding. And guess what, it actually works every time. Guess where I learned this? CHURCH.

Being connected with a church is so vital because it changes your view of the darkness and even bleakness of life to hope and light. So you may ask yourself, how do I receive this peace or even hope for the times of trouble in my life? Well starting is easy all you have to do is believe in Jesus Christ and accept Him as your personal Savior. The next step is to get connected with a church home that will help you to grow in the principles of Christ and that compassionately guides you through your Christian journey.

2 Thessalonians 3:16 Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in ever way. The Lord be with you all.

I love writing and believe that it's therapeutic to me particularly poetry because I can really play with different techniques. I also love to share inspirational writings including food for thought and just odd ideas in my head but mainly poetry.
