Sacred Soldier: A Glimpse of Destiny

Traveling down a path unknown,
So that you can seek the things that God has shown.
And piece together your life anew,
Settling for what’s right and true.
To press your way toward eternal life,
And resist the urge to stir up strife.
The life you’ve chosen will bless you still,
Even when your wrongs are revealed.
Grace and mercy will provide the strength,
To continue pressing while you repent.
He paid it all so that you could see,
And for you to know what it is to be free
Peace comes over you as your journey goes on,
As the vision of victory starts to dawn.
The horizon of bliss is approaching soon,
Showing your vision in full bloom.
Your life is beginning as the journey ends,
Now you shall wait ‘til the battle begins.

So Called Love

Some call you a gift,
Others a feeling to share.
You teach us to have compassion,
And how to care,
However we often fear you.
Bewildering our minds;
Torturing our souls.
To experience you brings happiness,
And longing for you loneliness.
In hopes of security,
We look for you in others,
For fear of being incomplete,
Thinking that they will fill us with you.

You originate in us,
Yet we seek you elsewhere,
Like what we possess of you is not enough.
We doubt that we have you,
Or have experienced you.
Why the external searching,
When the inside is much closer?
Once we realize where you truly are,
The searching stops and the living begins.
Almost as if the revelation healed us.
Dear love, make yourself known.
Don’t hide from us but show yourself.
Help us to stop looking in the wrong places,
So that we can find you in the right ones.

The Mask-A-Rade

I have kept up this charade for long enough,
And tired of pretending that I’m so tough.
My life is no longer easy everything takes strength,
And the will and power I no longer have.
I’ve grown weary of my surroundings,
They sift away what’s left.

When will I learn that a mask is just for cover,
Not who I really am,
Only for discovery.
For seeking what no one else can,
And discovering hidden truths that hide in darkness,
Not living in dreams and fantasies.

To remove this mask will leave me bare,
But it’s the story behind it I must share.
I’ve lived behind it for way to long,
So long I have no idea how to be strong.

Reality has never been near,
Nor has anything ever been clear.
I must remove this mask so that I can be,
The person that was always waiting to be free.

Destination Unknown (Dr. Change and Ms. Strange)

Floating between two extremes,
The pressure to chose becomes unbearable.
Do I have to decide now,
Can I put it off once more?
Fantasies of the future tickle my mind,
They all tell me that I must decide.
What do you want in life?
Where do you want it to take you?
Like tentacles these fantasies dance about my head,
Each pointing in opposite directions.
The possibilities are endless,
And the choices all mine.

In Darkness (with alternative ending)

There is a darkness that encompasses my soul,
Taking my triumphs and making them old.
Placing me in uncomfortable positions,
Attempting to destroy and sabotage my mission.
Days of rest and peace are few,
In this darkness my impatience brews.

In this darkness I hear roars of lions,
Instilling in me the fear of dying.
Love trickles away and turns to suspicion,
And my Faith in God appears to be missing.
The days are long,
But my heart is still strong.
I am not defeated,
Because my heart is still beating.

Those lions comfort me in distress,
They prepare me for my ultimate test.
Pulling away from me layers of callus,
Destroying every feeling of malice.
They strengthen my very soul,
Until my Faith in God makes me bold.
Because the time for war is drawing near,
So I’ll wait beside them until its Jesus I hear.

Telling me that I have won the race,
And now am free to look on His face.
I will join the ones who watched over me,
And never let me remain at defeat.
Those who gave me the courage to stand,
And wait until God had revealed the plan.
For my days were always numbered and few,
But His love was forever and always true.

Over the Hill

Blurry is the vision, I’ve lost my sight,
I now prefer what’s wrong over what’s right.
My days are night and my nights pitch dark,
My heart is so broken and torn all apart.
Like piece of dreams have floated away,
Like winds and waves have carried me astray.

His wings are like shelter they protect me from the rain,
Making it easier to bear this heart aching pain.
At his feet are my desires,
The ones that didn’t make it through the fire.
The clouds are moving and the sky is clear,
Now I’m being careful about what I hear.

Racing against time I start to fear,
Because now the end is drawing near.
As I face this valley with determination,
I rely on Him to give me patience.
I am on His wing now He’s bringing me through,
Back to the place where joy and laughter are true.
As the door opens I open my eyes,
And peer at the marvelous blue sky.
I made it again my wounds have healed,
Now I’ve made it over that hill.

Process of Persecution

Does that make me immoral then,
That I don’t meet your expectations?
I’m not what you see.
Does that make me weaker than you,
That I’m not able to deal with my oppression?
I’m loathing my oppressor.
Does that make me unstable,
That I can’t handle your bickering?
I hate those that prefer to be heard.
Does it not satisfy you,
That I’m not leaping at your barking?
I don’t understand your badgering.
Does that make me immature then,
That I don’t do what you want me to?
I learn by God’s words and wisdom alone.
Does that make me too spiritual,
That I prefer to sit at his feet?
I’d rather learn compassion.
Does that frighten you now,
That I lean too much on God?
I trust the one that can guide me?
Do you loath me yet?
Have I answered your questions?
Deciding to die is not easy,
It takes faith and trust in God.
But not dying is a risk,
Because you latch onto what kills you.

It’s Your Time

You’ve waited patiently when times were hard,
You played your hand and never threw down your cards.
You taught yourself to look at the stars,
Instead of looking at all of your internal scars.
You laughed when the pain cut deep,
You smiled so hard you thought you would weep.
Your tears became make up filled with your pain,
They made you bow your head and hold it in shame.
Through failure and fear you stood tall,
Even when they threw rocks and stones trying to make you fall.
The time has come for you to shine,
It’s time to leave it all behind.
To erase all your mistakes and let the healing begin,
Because it’s your time, it’s your time to win.
So laugh a little, smile a little, and even cheer,
And wait until that next season is near.
The Lord has come to all who are weary,
To awaken those who have become dreary.
It’s your time to listen and your time to pray,
So another one of God’s won’t be casted away.
Put on your armor to fight the good fight,
Because it’s your time to show God’s might.

Creatures of the Sea

In the depth of the sea there are creatures who lurk.
They’re not bass, or cod, or even perch.
They have hearts of stone and glass they break,
From love un-felt, unheard, and awake.
They search in low places looking for dreams,
Unheard of, unseen, not even thought of it seems.
Hope they have none, they’re still looking for dreams,
In a failing lust for only momentary things.
They look for comfort in corners and around turns,
Inside of them a desire to achieve constantly burns.
They’ll look and search until they finally find.
And what they find they leave it behind.
Inside of them a passion for hope manifests.
So they try and they try and they give it their best.
Where do I find them, where could they be?
In a store or a mall, well lets see?
They swim in this ocean lost and lonely,
Hanging around with friends and phonies.
They look for hope in the eyes of truth.
They look for Him hidden inside of you.
